How to Pick the Right Font

  • Body text and captions: a clean sans serif like Inter, Roboto or Montserrat stays readable at small sizes.
  • Headlines and logos: display fonts and heavy weights add personality, but test them at the size you'll actually use.
  • Classic or premium feel: serif fonts like Playfair Display or Merriweather look editorial and elegant.
  • Personal or playful: handwriting fonts work for short words, not long paragraphs.
  • Pair, don't pile up: one font for headings and one for body text is plenty.

Frequently asked questions

What is a font tester?

A font tester shows your own words in lots of fonts at once, so you can compare them before you download or install anything. Type your text above and every preview updates instantly.

Are these fonts free to use?

Yes. All 500 are Google Fonts, which are free and released under open source licenses, so you can use them in personal and commercial projects.

How do I download and install a font?

Click Get font to open it on Google Fonts, then click Get font and Download all. Unzip the download and open the .ttf file, then click Install on Windows or Install Font on a Mac.

Can I use these fonts in CapCut, Canva or Google Docs?

Yes. On PC, install the font and restart CapCut, then search for it in the font list. Many Google Fonts are already built into Canva and Google Docs, so you can often just search for the name there.

Which fonts are included?

The 500 most popular Google Fonts, across sans serif, serif, display, handwriting and monospace. Search by name or filter by category to narrow them down.

Why does a font look plain for a second?

Each font loads from Google Fonts as you scroll to it. Until it arrives, the preview shows a fallback font, so on a slow connection you may see it switch.
